THE COMPANY As the “dot.com” boom came to close in the fall of 2001, industries began to view the Internet and its ability in a different light. The Internet no longer held promises of miracles, but rather became a mainstay and part of a successful marketing campaign for any business. Companies began to look for cost-effective ways to continue to employ ways to market themselves and their products and services online. In October of 2001, Thomas “Teejay” Joel, founded IAMTEEJAY in his apartment in Culver City, California to serve the needs of these enterprises. The “dot.com” bust saw a sudden rise of enterprising individuals, who have lost jobs and businesses during the fallout that established new companies and markets. IAMTEEJAY catered to their low-budget and businesses plans with extended timelines and acquired a clientele of small business owners around the country. Within a year, IAMTEEJAY opened office in Playa del Rey, hired its first employee, and established a business relationship Site51 as a sub-contractor and hosting and database service-provider. In 2003, with a clientele of over 125, which 50-plus were active accounts, IAMTEEJAY moved its studios and opened its shop on the historic Miracle Mile of Stockton, California. Active in its community, hiring several additional employees, strengthening its relationship with Site51, and nearly doubling its clientele over the next two years, IAMTEEJAY continues to provide web and graphic design solutions for digital and print media production needs of the individual, small business and corporate client.
