THE DOTTIES 8th Annual The Dotties Finalist In 2005 the Dottie Awards asked Northern California companies to “Show off Your Dots.” The event marked the ninth year of the Dottie Awards recognizing the top web sites in Northern California. Held on March 10, 2005 at the historic Crest Theater in downtown Sacramento, The Dotties brought together education, networking and capped off the evening with the most successful Awards Show to date. The 2005 Dotties also marked the first year for charging a nomination fee. While overall nominations declined, the quality of the nominees increased significantly. For the first time guests were offered an opportunity to attend educational forums at the Crest Theater prior to the awards show. The forums provided attendees the opportunity to learn more about Web development, design and utilizing the internet to it’s fullest advantage through targeted email. The 2005 Dottie Awards featured the continued sponsorship of Gilbert Associates, Inc. and the University of Phoenix. Jel Productions, Blast Design Studio, The Business Journal, KXJZ, Commerce Printing and Zap Creative also continued their support. The American Marketing Association/Sacramento Valley significantly refined the judging criteria and brought together 40 marketing and technology professionals as judges.
