Dr. Peter Maduro, a client since 2004, finally accepted that his Flash site was no longer serving his online marketing needs. In preparation for building him a new site, I asked him to refer me to another psychologist website which had a design, layout and functionality that he felt could best represent him. His reference site turned out to be an excellent choice as a model for us to design his own new website.

Building a Website for a Los Angeles Building Contractor

John Stone, Owner of STONE Construction Company in Los Angeles, CA came to me to build a new Business Catalyst website to boost his brand name recognition and improve the visibility of his company in search engines.  As an integral part of his new site, catering to John's need to maintain a gallery of work himself, I developed a great tool using the Business Catalyst WebApps framework.  The customized Web App will allow him the control to easily create, maintain, update and catalog his portfolio of before, during and after photography so visitors can see some of the amazing home remodels and commercial developments he's completed for his clients.

Episcopal Impact Fund: A Website Design for Yet Another Bay Area Non-Profit Organization

My most recent non-profit project was with The Episcopal Impact Fund, formerly known as Episcopal Charities. The Episcopal Impact Fund focuses on the root causes of poverty in the areas of Education, Health and Wellness and the Environment. Inspired by the teachings of the gospel, they share a vision of a world without poverty. They support organizations that are located within the geographic region of the Diocese of California, the Episcopal Church in the San Francisco Bay Area both financially and through mentorship and guidance.

Thanks to Tony Carlson of Tech-Hero and Amanda Platt of California Association of Resource Conservation Districts, I have had the privilege of designing and developing a website for the Elk Grove Greener Gardens Project a few years back. After 5 years of assisting them with the maintenance of and updates to the site to showcase their annual Greener Gardens Tour, I have been able to improve upon my initial efforts so that these updates are made with much less effort.

I was a stranger in a strange land. After moving to Los Angeles in 1998, I had to find a way to reach out and find my first customers. Fortunately, being a roadie to a couple of Hollywood bands and having my own band in Culver City, I was exposed to a large number of creatives. These potential clients were just then getting to understand how this “new” technology would help them market themselves more effectively. What better way was there than to offer 10-free website designs to those around me. After having a pivotal lunch with writer, music art critic, and artist representative, Craig Stephens, I was introduced to his clientele, some of whom would become my first clients. This group included Robert Reynolds, Jeremy Kidd, Richard and JoAnn Patterson.

Steven is Back with Two Clients to Start Off 2016!

Steven Shmerler of SASNet Design and I have been doing business together since the day of the “dot.com” boom, surviving its bust, and thriving in a post-recession period where we collectively pool our resources and efforts to provide his clients with the tools they need to effectively market themselves on and offline. Today he brings to me two clients that we will be designing and developing websites for. The first client is Sundahl Waterproofing, in business for 15 years and primarily serving the Westchester and Southern Connecticut areas. Sundahl's primary business is residential basement waterproofing, foundation and crack repair, mold and mildew remediation, plus commercial application of same for existing and new buildings and homes. The second client is the type of client Steven and I have much experience with, the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council (HHWNC). The HHWNC is a community organization that provides a link between city government and residents. Sundahl will be getting a new site on the Business Catalyst platform, while the HHWNCwill be upgrading their Drupal-based website to be responsive and include a fresh new look.
