Thanks to Tony Carlson of Tech-Hero and Amanda Platt of California Association of Resource Conservation Districts, I have had the privilege of designing and developing a website for the Elk Grove Greener Gardens Project a few years back. After 5 years of assisting them with the maintenance of and updates to the site to showcase their annual Greener Gardens Tour, I have been able to improve upon my initial efforts so that these updates are made with much less effort.
Utilizing the Business Catalyst platform’s Web App module, I was able to develop customized tools that allows their staff to create, update and maintain their annual garden tours, home page slideshow, and California native plant lists.
Recently, I have made the site fully-responsive and improved the back-end once more to a point which even fancies me.
The Elk Grove Greener Gardens Project is a group of local landscape professionals, organizations, businesses, conservationists and community members that wants to share water-wise and river friendly practices and principles to help citizens of Elk Grove and other local communities create aesthetic sustainable landscapes that reduce impacts on the environment and local watershed.
