Customized Client Solutions Using Business Catalyst WebApps

Websites often have the responsibility to present it's content in a manageable and easy-to-find manner. When there is a great deal of content, there are two issues that arise: First the owner of the content may find themselves overwhelmed with having to manage the lot of it, and secondly the user of the site may find it difficult to find what they need to find. Here at IAMTEEJAY, we use Business Catalyst as the foundation for our clients' websites with substantial content management and content creation needs. Allow me to share some additional insight into what the tool is and what it can be used for:

Building a Website for a Los Angeles Building Contractor

John Stone, Owner of STONE Construction Company in Los Angeles, CA came to me to build a new Business Catalyst website to boost his brand name recognition and improve the visibility of his company in search engines.  As an integral part of his new site, catering to John's need to maintain a gallery of work himself, I developed a great tool using the Business Catalyst WebApps framework.  The customized Web App will allow him the control to easily create, maintain, update and catalog his portfolio of before, during and after photography so visitors can see some of the amazing home remodels and commercial developments he's completed for his clients.

Going Green with a Website for an Environmentally-conscience Community

Thanks to Tony Carlson of Tech-Hero and Amanda Platt of California Association of Resource Conservation Districts, I have had the privilege of designing and developing a website for the Elk Grove Greener Gardens Project a few years back. After 5 years of assisting them with the maintenance of and updates to the site to showcase their annual Greener Gardens Tour, I have been able to improve upon my initial efforts so that these updates are made with much less effort.

What She Needs, Business Catalyst WebApps Can Provide

Denise Kamena comes to me with a quest to build a member and database-driven website, at a fraction of the cost, utilizing the Business Catalyst platform. A few years ago I would have charged a big chunk of change for this site, but now with some experience working with the platform it is now time to test its limitations and offer it to her at an affordable rate. Denise, a personal care provider who often takes her clients to their doctor and dentist appointments, struggles to manage her notes that she needs to provide to their social workers who represent them. She would often write things down on a piece of paper, or notepad on her mobile device, only to either lose the notes or not have all the details in order. She spends more time on this aspect of her job than she would like to. My job is to solve that problem and develop a Business Catalyst WebApp to handle this task as efficiently as possible.

A Life-long Collaboration Continues…

Jeremy Kidd and I go way back. We met in 1998, as I was hired to help him design a website to promote himself as an artist. He was my second client and our relationship was an unusual one. Our collaborative efforts to build a website shaped my career in its entirety. He wasn’t my ordinary client, he didn’t want me to just design his website, he wanted me to show him how to design his website. Like with his artwork, Jeremy is keen on developing something very custom and unique, incorporating his artwork as part of the layout, not just the content. Within 6 weeks he had a site that was all about design and art, where form forced function. Of course, I could go on but for now I’ll just let you view his new site and enjoy his work.
