Three Times A Charm for the Los Angeles Ballet

After developing the Los Angeles Ballet’s parent site and their Ballet School’s satellite site using the effective Business Catalyst platform, the organization has decided to launch another site for their Summer Course department. It is now apparent that the site management and maintenance tools at Business Catalyst are incredibly effective as the organization continues to move forward with the platform. They are also doing more to add, update and market their site more effectively and on their own.

Time to Fall in Love and Dance Your Life Away

After discovering and appreciating my work with Andrea Cagan’s website, Carole Greenbaum came to me with a need to develop a site to promote her book, “The Forever Deal”. “The Forever Deal” is an inspiring story for anyone who has suffered loss through death, divorce or the simple demise of a once sturdy love affair. Carole is the epitome of grace as she picks herself up and ventures back into the world of relationships.

Graphic Design for a Coupon Magazine in Marin Country

It has been a very long time since I took on a print and graphic design project of this magnitude, but what better way to get to know your community and the businesses within. Melissa Greenberg came to me with a need to help her design her next edition of the Finest Coupons of Marin Magazine. With a collection of 22-pages and 33 advertising customers, I will manage and update the ads from a previous issue, collect instructions for new ads from new customers, put together the spread using PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign, collect review and approvals from clients, and submit the final product to the printers. For the first time in many years, there is not a single line of code involved - a breath of fresh air.

A Life-long Collaboration Continues…

Jeremy Kidd and I go way back. We met in 1998, as I was hired to help him design a website to promote himself as an artist. He was my second client and our relationship was an unusual one. Our collaborative efforts to build a website shaped my career in its entirety. He wasn’t my ordinary client, he didn’t want me to just design his website, he wanted me to show him how to design his website. Like with his artwork, Jeremy is keen on developing something very custom and unique, incorporating his artwork as part of the layout, not just the content. Within 6 weeks he had a site that was all about design and art, where form forced function. Of course, I could go on but for now I’ll just let you view his new site and enjoy his work.

The End of Flash-driven Websites for Good

Yes, I was good at developing fast loading, well-design and developed Flash sites since 1999. I was so good that I won several design awards and taught the subject matter at Otis College of Art & Design. That was 16 years ago! Thanks to Steve Jobs and Apple, and the need for speed and quick-access to content, by not just the users but also search engines, Adobe has finally killed the Flash application for web-development purposes.
