What is NLWeb?
NLWeb (short for Natural Language Web) is a protocol that helps AI-powered agents discover, understand, and search website content. Enabling it improves how your site appears in AI-driven search and tools.
It lets AI tools that support NLWeb find and understand your site’s content, so it can show up in AI-powered search and assistants.
Luckily, NLWeb access is read-only and respects your existing public content boundaries. It does not impact site performance, does not expose private data, and does not allow content modification.
After enabling this, we started going down the rabbit hole of all the tools now available in your Wix site's Dashboard. One of the first things we found is the AI Visibility Overview service, which analyzes your website's ability to communicate with these Gen AI clients.
What is Gen AI?
GenAI (Generative AI) is a subset of artificial intelligence that uses sophisticated algorithms and neural networks to create new, original content in response to user prompts. Unlike traditional AI, which analyzes data to classify or predict, GenAI generates novel text, images, audio, video, and code by identifying patterns in massive datasets.

Which Gen AI Models Are Supported
Chat GPT
ChatGPT is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI that uses large language models (LLMs) to generate human-like text, code, and images in response to user prompts. Originally released on November 30, 2022, it is powered by the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, which enables it to understand context and produce fluent, natural language outputs.
This is the most widely used model among our clients, both for personal and business use.
Gemini
Gemini AI is Google's flagship family of multimodal artificial intelligence models and its everyday AI assistant. It can understand, operate across, and generate different types of information, including text, code, audio, image, and video.
Perplexity
In AI, Perplexity is a standard metric for measuring how well a language model predicts a given text sample. It gauges a model's uncertainty; a lower score indicates the model is more confident and accurate in its language predictions.
As the AI ecosystem expands, more models will be added.

Using the native Wix Marketing AI, it composes commonly used lines of questioning for AI model users and checks whether your site answers them.

Working for one of our favorite clients, resilience expert and keynote speaker Eileen McDargh, we see that as the economy slowed this year, she, like most of us, wants to find more work through search engines and AI search results.
Typically, Eileen serves her clients nationally and internationally. However, in this economy, travel and hosting costs are skyrocketing. According to the three AI models, Kleo, Wix's own AI, learned that her clients are now seeking to keep it local to save on fees, transportation, and hosting costs for their speakers.
