What is NLWeb?
NLWeb (short for Natural Language Web) is a protocol that helps AI-powered agents discover, understand, and search website content. Enabling it improves how your site appears in AI-driven searches and tools.
This protocol allows AI tools that support NLWeb to find and understand your site’s content. As a result, your site can show up in AI-powered searches and assistants.
Fortunately, NLWeb access is read-only. It respects your existing public content boundaries. It does not impact site performance, expose private data, or allow content modification.
After enabling this, we explored the tools now available in your Wix site's Dashboard. One of the first things we found is the AI Visibility Overview service. This service analyzes your website's ability to communicate with Gen AI clients.
What is Gen AI?

Which Gen AI Models Are Supported?
Chat GPT
ChatGPT is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI. It uses large language models (LLMs) to generate human-like text, code, and images in response to user prompts. Originally released on November 30, 2022, it is powered by the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture. This enables it to understand context and produce fluent, natural language outputs. This is the most widely used model among our clients for both personal and business use.
Gemini
Gemini AI is Google's flagship family of multimodal artificial intelligence models. It serves as an everyday AI assistant. Gemini can understand, operate across, and generate different types of information, including text, code, audio, images, and video.
Perplexity
In AI, perplexity is a standard metric for measuring how well a language model predicts a given text sample. It gauges a model's uncertainty; a lower score indicates that the model is more confident and accurate in its language predictions.
As the AI ecosystem expands, more models will be added.

With this AI-powered tool, you can track how often your site is mentioned and cited in AI responses. You can also compare yourself to competitors. Additionally, you can see which sources contribute to these insights and monitor traffic coming from AI platforms.
Using the native Wix Marketing AI, it composes commonly used lines of questioning for AI model users. It checks whether your site answers these questions effectively.
An Example of an AI Neural Network Interaction
Working for one of our favorite clients, resilience expert and keynote speaker Eileen McDargh, we noticed that as the economy slowed this year, she, like many others, wants to find more work through search engines and AI search results.
Typically, Eileen serves her clients nationally and internationally. However, in this economy, travel and hosting costs are skyrocketing. According to the three AI models, Kleo, Wix's own AI, learned that her clients are now seeking to keep it local to save on fees, transportation, and hosting costs for their speakers.
